Ziua Dobrogei - 14 noiembrie 2018
14 noiembrie 1878 - 14 noiembrie 2018

Mesajul expozitiei subliniaza respectul reciproc intre comunitati, intre culturi, care exista in Dobrogea'.

Claudia Alempi - a transformat in arta pasiunea ei pentru flori.

Impreuna, in respect reciproc

invite you on November 14th 2018 to the 'Dobrogea - Beyond Photography' photography exhibition varnishing day,
an exhibition signed by Lucia Simion

The exhibition is dedicated to the celebration of 140 years since
the Dobrogea area was reunited with the Romanian territory

Lucia Simion: 'The 'Dobrogea - Beyond Photography' project is inspired by the people I met in several photography trips I made between 2013 - 2017 in the villages situated in the center and in the south of the Dobrogea area, local people who impressed me with their kindness, with the fact that they accepted with a smile, with friendship and relaxation, to be photographed.
Their openness to dialogue inspired me to bring to life this photography exhibition which guides the viewer's attention beyond the image itself, beyond the person's face, to the human being who smiles at you even he / she does not know you personally.
The project has been developed in 2018 through the collaboration with The Greek Union in Romania, The Lippovan Russian Community in Romania and The Turk Democratic Union in Romania.
The exhibition speaks about the existence of interpersonal relations based on mutual respect, relations based on our true deep humanity that exists in each of us. The message of the exhibition underlines the mutual respect between various communities, between cultures, that exists in the Dobrogea area.

About The Greek Union in Romania - The Izvoarele village Subsidiary
For the 22 Greek communities living in Romania, The Greek Union in Romania has a spiritual, cultural, educational, charitable and social partnership role.
In the first half of the XIXth century, Greek families coming from the Salonic area settled down in the Dobrogea area building the Izvoarele village. Today, here lives the only compact Greek community that exists in the Romanian rural zone.
In the repertory of The 'Demetra' Ensemble, which continues the Greek song and dance within the Izvoarele Subsidiary of The Greek Union in Romania, there are similarities with the folklore existing in the Salonic area. Three distinguished members of The 'Demetra' Ensemble are presented in a photography within the 'Dobrogea - Beyond Photography' exhibition.

About The Lippovan Russian Community in Romania - The Slava Cercheza village Subsidiary
The Lippovan Community in Romania is an ethnic, social, cultural and humanitarian Association.
In the XVIIIth century, the Russians settled down in the Dobrogea area coming from the Don river area. Old Russian traditions are still present today in the Lippovan Russian community living in the Slava Cercheza village.
Among the Lippovan Russian Community members living in Slava Cercheza who are presented in the 'Dobrogea - Beyond Photography' exhibition, we can see:
Mr Toma Ivan - deacon of the local church, he paints icons and teaches the old Russian language
Mr Stefan Gurei and Mr Timofei Gurei - father and son, they paint icons on wood and are well-known in the Lippovan Russian community
Mrs Claudia Alempi - she transformed in art her passion for flowers. The colors and the perfume of her flowers make a more beautiful life for the community in her village
Mrs Irina Mihailov - president of The Slava Cercheza Subsidiary of The Lippovan Russian Community in Romania until 2007, she initiated The 'Slaveanka' Folkloric Ensemble, one of the most important messengers of the Lippovan Russian traditional song and dance.

About The Turk Democratic Union in Romania - The Fantana Mare village Subsidiary
The Turk Democratic Union in Romania believes in the equality of chances and holds the conviction that every person and every community represents a potential value as a cultural and creative factor naturally belonging to the Romanian society. The Turk Democratic Union in Romania pleads for a mutual respect based Romania.
The Fantana Mare village is entirely inhabited by Turk people. The village is mentioned in XIIth century historical documents, and also in XIXth century documents. Today, the people living here raise animals and make agriculture.
